HURON — The Huron girls’ tennis team used a pair of 5-4 victories to record a sweep in a triangular meet on Monday at Winter Park Courts.

After going 2-1 in singles, the Tigers won three of the six singles matches to claim the victory against Aberdeen Roncalli.

Despite being unable to get wins in singles, Michelle Johnson and Sierra Goergen teamed up to claim a win in No. 1 doubles for Huron against the Cavaliers.

Bailey Harvey and Cassie Hedblom recorded a 10-8 victory No. 3 doubles for Huron.

Harvey and Hedblom also posted singles wins at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively, while Claire Hoogland had the other victory for the Tigers at No. 5 singles.

Huron needed a rally in the singles competition after finishing 1-2 in doubles against Mitchell.

Johnson and Goergen earned the lone doubles victory with a 10-1 decision at No. 1.

Johnson also won 10-3 at No. 1 singles, while Goergen won 10-2 in No. 2. Other singles wins for Huron were claimed by Hoogland at No. 5 and Hedblom at No. 6.

The Tigers will now be off until the Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet, which is scheduled Oct. 3 in Pierre.
