IVANHOE, Minn. — Robert (Bob) James Siver, 63, of Ivanhoe, Minn., died on Sept. 27, 2013, after a four-year battle with cancer at the White Care Center in White.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in De Smet with the Revs. Randy Koeller and Clarence Grebner officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet on Wednesday evening. Burial will be in the De Smet Cemetery.
Robert Siver was born on July 1, 1950, to Alvin and Alice Siver in De Smet. He grew up in the Erwin community and graduated from Erwin High School in 1969. He joined the Army in 1969 and served his country in the Vietnam Conflict. After his discharge from the service, he was employed as a heavy machine operator for several construction companies.
He is survived by his children, David, Dan, Angela, Katrina, April, Laurie, Bobby, Jon and Shaw; his mother, Alice Siver of Brookings; a sister, Marcia Larsen of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; three brothers, Wayne (Linda) of Salem, Ore., David, of De Smet and Charlie (Cindee) of Brookings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and father, Alvin.
