John Schumacher and Judy Schumacher-Lamke

The co-burial service of the cremated remains of Judy Schumacher-Lamke, age 71, of Kissimmee, Fla., and formerly of Huron, who died Aug. 22, 2013, and the cremated remains of her brother, John Schumacher, 70, of Huron, who died Feb. 21, 2011, will be held jointly at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Martin Cemetery in Huron. HURON — John B Schumacher, 70, of Huron, died on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Huron Regional Medical Center. 

John B. Schumacher was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Huron, to Clarence and Louise (Buchanan) Schumacher. He graduated from Huron High School in 1958 and attended the University of South Dakota.

His passion was inventing, and he had patented many of his inventions. He was also the proprietor of John B’s Tavern in Huron from 1966-1970. 

He had five children, Lori (Scott) Olson of Huron, Kyle (Al) Stoner of Blackhawk, John Buchanan “Bucky” (Cindy) of Sioux Falls, Abby (Joe) Parlett of Vermillion, and Jason (Sandy) of Sioux Falls; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann (Peter) Madel of Waseca, Minn., and Patsy (Phil) Ehret of Stuart, Fla.; and a niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Lamke, who died Aug. 22.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Judy Schumacher Lamke, age 71, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Huron, died on Aug. 22, 2013, in Kissimmee following a lengthy illness.     

Judy Schumacher was born Jan. 10, 1942, to Clarence and Louise Schumacher in Huron. She graduated from Huron High School in 1960 and attended the University of South Dakota. She was a singer and starred in numerous plays.

She worked 12 years as the Administrative Assistant for Congressman Dan Rostenkowski of Ill.

She is survived by two sons, Jim (Laura) Lamke of Skillman, N.J., and Jeff (Katie) Lamke of Merritt Island, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann (Peter) Madel of Waseca, Minn., and Patsy (Philip) Ehret of Stuart, Fla..

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, John.
