MITCHELL ó Eunice Farrell Bollock, 89, of Mitchell, died Thursday at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in Servicemenís Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday with a scripture service at 7 p.m. at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Mary Eunice Farrell was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Beadle County, to William Francis and Margaret (Lovett) Farrell. She graduated from Cavour High School. She entered the Cadet Nurse Corps in Mitchell during World War II at Saint Joseph Hospital. After graduation, she worked in pediatrics and geriatrics at Saint Joseph Hospital and various nursing homes in Mitchell. She became the director of nursing at the Beebe Nursing Home in Mitchell.
On April 29, 1947, she married Harold Bollock in Mitchell.
She was very proud to be Irish and was able to travel to Ireland in May of 1995. She was a story teller and told many stories to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Bill (Jan) Bollock of Rapid City; Greg (Marilyn) Bollock of Mitchell; Mike Bollock of Mitchell; Mary (Gary) Stadlman of Ethan; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a special cousin, Elnora Burdick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; two infant daughters, Margaret Ann and Brenda Lynn; sister, Corinne Burns; two brothers-in-law, Jack Burns and Howard Bollack; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Bollack.
