Bryan Smith announces candidacy for city commission

HURON – Bryan W. Smith has announced his candidacy for a seat on the City Commission in the April 8 municipal election. It is being held in conjunction with the Huron School Board election.

Smith is a native of Huron. He and his wife, Teresa, a teacher with the Huron School District, and children, Emma, Hannah and William, are long-time residents.

In addition to his position of vice president of lending at Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, he is also active on various civic boards, including the Huron Chamber & Visitor’s Bureau, Junior Achievement and several other city boards and committees.

The Smiths are active members of First United Methodist Church.

Along with his background and experience, Smith said he will bring a positive approach to meeting the needs of the city of Huron as a member of the City Commission.
