Louis Eugene Donlin, 90, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Oak Park Senior Living in Stillwater, Minn..
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday St. Annís Catholic Church in Miller.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service at St. Annís Catholic Church in Miller. Rembold Funeral Home of St. Lawrence announced arrangements.
Louis ďLouieĒ Donlin was born to Mathilda (Schaefer) and Eugene Donlin on Sept. 10, 1923, near Lake Louise. After graduating from Miller High School in 1941, he moved to Detroit. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in Europe. After the war he returned to Miller.
He married Beverly Fulton in 1953. They were married 41 years. He farmed with his brother, Al. He started Donlin Building, Inc., which he managed for more than 30 years.
He is survived by seven children,† Mike (Nanette) Donlin of Miller, Kathy Harvey of Miller, Mary Donlin (Curt Routhe) of Shoreview, Minn., Carolyn Donlin (Dan) Jensen of San Jose, Calif., Lisa (Mike) Maw of Roseville, Minn., Maureen Donlin (John Tavis) of Kirkwood, Miss., and Pegeen Donlin (Keith Rapp) of Woodbury, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Hafner, of Washington, D.C.; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.†
He was preceded in death by his wife, 11 siblings, Bert Donlin, Claire Sweeney, Al Donlin, Joe Donlin, Betty Queen, Vera Donlin, Irene Esper, Paul Donlin, Edie Schroeder, Mike Donlin and Chuck Donlin; and a son-in-law, Neil Harvey.For the complete article see the 02-28-2014 issue.
