The Huron Young Professionals hosted a Mini Putt Putt competition in downtown Huron on Feb. 28 to raise money for the ProPT Huron Youth Wellness Fund.

Picek Construction helped the group with in-kind donations of time and materials to build the nine mini-golf platforms which were distributed throughout several different establishments. This event raised $300 for the local effort.

Pro PT as a staff has established a fund to be used to support and financially assist young athletes and their specific wellness activities.

Recognizing the need and importance of young people participating in various sporting and recreational activities has always been an imbedded philosophy of the therapists and therapist assistants of Pro PT. With this recognized, funds are available for young people to apply for financial assistance to assist in covering the cost of camps, sports teams, sign up fees to wellness activities, and other youth based activities.

Any young person wishing to receive financial assistance can apply with the description of activities that they will be doing and the amount of assistance necessary. The request will be considered on a case by case basis.

The Huron Young Professionals exist to attract and retain talent in the Huron area.  They are dedicated to finding innovative ways for young adults to connect with their community to grow personally and professionally so that they can live life to the fullest.

For more information contact the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau at 605-352-0000, email hyp@huronsd.com or find the group on Facebook and Twitter.
