HURON — Mary G. Wipf, 90, of Huron, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at SunQuest Health Care Center.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Church with the Rev. Gordon Wiebe officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, rural Doland. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with her family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening.
Mary Gladys Kleinsasser was born on Dec. 8, 1923, to John M. and Mary (Wipf) Kleinsasser in Carpenter. She graduated high school in Doland in 1942 and was baptized that same year. She was a member of the Ebenezer MB Church in rural Doland. In 1994 she became a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in rural Doland.
On Dec. 8, 1942, she married Warren Wipf, of Frankfort. She taught Sunday school, was active in the Women’s Missionary Society and sang in the church choir.
She later worked at the West Side Café, the Red Owl Store, and the U.S. Post Office where she worked for 34 and a half years, retiring in 1990.
She is survived by her two sons, Don (Phyllis) Wipf of Wichita, Kan. and Terry (Marilynn) Wipf of Sterling Heights, Mich.; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Lillian Woodfork of Doland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
