HIGHMORE — Robert Eugene Crow, 70, of Highmore, died on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at his home in Highmore, surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ in Highmore with the Rev. Max Kelley officiating.
Robert Eugene Crow was born on Nov. 24, 1943, to Robert T. and Bettie (Davis) Crow in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Valley High of Elgin, Iowa. He then attended the Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. He became a high school teacher of math, science and physics. He married Linda Hackmann on Dec. 28, 1965, in Elgin, Iowa.
He enjoyed gardening, reading, carpentry, music, fishing, cooking, camping and traveling. He was a Cub Scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America in Victor, Iowa for several years. He was a member of Highmore Church of Christ where he served on the mission board. He also published a paper for the Iowa Academy of Science.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Highmore; children, Carlin Crow of Wichita, Kan., Holli (Mark) Oberheu of Denver, Iowa, Jeremy (LeAnne) Crow of Nixa, MO, Heidi (Jason) Lavender of Wichita, KS, Heather (Eric) Trefz of Highmore, and Cameron (Erika) Crow of Olathe, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; four brothers and one sister; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert T. Crow and Bettie (Davis) Crow.
