ASHTON ó Orville Anderson Kellar, Jr. 65, of Ashton, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, in Sioux Falls, after surgery at Veteranís Administration Hospital. Orville was cremated and his memorial service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. The Rev. Tim Fugman will officiate. After the service there will be military rites at the funeral home.
Orville Kellar was born Aug. 29, 1948, in Washington, to Orville and Frankie (Reaves) Kellar Sr. He graduated from high school in Washington. He served in the Navy and Marines.
He married Peggy Christman in Tacoma, Wash. on Feb. 25, 1978. He worked for Concrete Technology building barges in Washington. He became disabled and moved to Arkansas before moving to Ashton in 2001.
He enjoyed gardening, camping and pets.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Ashton; daughter, Emma (Josh) Schnabel of Watertown; son, Matthew (Leeanna Severson) Garrison of Aberdeen; brother, Phillip Kellar of Tacoma, Wash.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
