MILLER ó Marvin Nielsen, 77, of Custer, formerly of Miller, died Wednesday, June 11, at his home in Custer.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Miller.

Marvin Dwayne Nielsen was born Sept. 7, 1936, to George and Margaret Nielsen in Redfield. He grew up on his parentís farm and attended country school through the eighth grade.

He married Delores Ames on Oct. 31, 1964. They farmed in the Miller area before moving to Custer for a short time in 1972. They ran a Grade A Dairy farm in Saint Lawrence until 1983. He managed the Nelson Oil and Gas propane plant and started renting residential properties.

He enjoyed collecting antique cars, fishing and spending nights in Deadwood.

He is survived by two sons, Pat, of Miller, Mark (Kim) of Custer; daughter, Angela, of Rapid City; 13 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; sisters, Gleva Schlotter, Doris Landeen and Alice (Paul) Engelmann; daughter-in-law Bonnie Nielsen-Ramer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; parents, George and Margaret; stepfather, Jake; sisters, Donna, Marilyn and Elaine; oldest son, Michael; brothers-in-law Don Schlotter and John Landeen.
