DE SMET — Dean Ferguson, 79, died at home in De Smet on June 10, 2014.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in De Smet.
Dean Ferguson was born Oct. 16, 1934, to Ruby and Truman Ferguson. He grew up in the Manchester/De Smet area. He worked on the farm with his parents.
On Nov. 8, 1954, he married Betty Kieffer in a small ceremony in Carthage. He retired in 1996 after thirty-two years as a machinist foreman with Parker-Hannifin Incorporated.
He enjoyed traveling, square dance calling, 4-wheeling and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of De Smet; three daughters, Kathy (Dan) Parsley of Chino, Calif., Susan Greeley of Miles City, Mont. and Ann Kerns of Walton, Ky.; brother, Vernon (Pat), of De Smet; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two new arrivals due this year.
