William “Bill” Walter Mentele, 55, of Epiphany, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Center in Mitchell.
His funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany in Epiphany. Burial will be in Holy Three Kings Catholic Cemetery at Epiphany. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard, with a scripture and rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
William “Bill” Walter Mentele was born Oct. 18, 1954, to Robert and Ann (Lawrence) Mentele at Mitchell.
On May 17, 1974, he married Nancy Foos at Salem. He owned and operated construction equipment his entire working life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Epiphany and tolled the church bell for numerous years at Mass, weddings and funerals.
He is survived by his wife of Mitchell; his children, Robert (Maria) Foos of Brandon, Susan Roth of Gillette, Wyo., Kelli (Tom) Kommes of Mitchell, Sarah Mentele of Oacoma, LeAnn (Sean) Hughes of Madison, Kimberly (Stephen) Moschell of Howard, and Allyssa (Brent Hoffer) Mentele of Reliance; 14 grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Craig Roth of Gillette and Curt Nepple of Chamberlain; seven brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Jim and Roger; a sister, Kathleen; and several nieces and nephews.
