2022 281 Conference Hall of Fame Induction

HURON — Wolsey-Wessington administrator Jennifer Boomsma-Kelsey is the 281 Conference Hall of Fame inductee for 2022.

Boomsma-Kelsey was inducted during halftime of the boys’ championship game Thursday night at Huron Arena.

She began her education career in the Wolsey school district in 1997 as a special education teacher and was later named the school’s Activities Director, a position she held for both the Wolsey and Wolsey-Wessington School Districts for 22 years. Boomsma-Kelsey currently serves as superintendent, high school principal and Special Education director for the Wolsey-Wessington School District.

She coached volleyball for the school for 14 years and led the teams to both 281 Conference regular season and tournament championships. She coached track and basketball as well and was the chair of the 281 Conference for eight years. She was the Regional Athletic Director of the Year twice and served as the first female president of the S.D. Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

She is a graduate of Hitchcock High School and holds a Bachelor degree from Huron University and two Masters degrees from Northern State University.
