HURON — While COVID-19 vaccination continues to slow across the state, the spread of the virus has also slowed at this time, according to the report from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) Tuesday.

The state added 25 new positive cases and 50 new recovered cases Tuesday, bringing the active cases in the state down to 186.

The state has not been below 200 active cases since April 6, 2020.

Beadle County added no new positive cases but did add one new recovered case in Tuesday’s DOH report. That put Beadle’s active virus cases at five.

The Heartland Region recorded no new positive cases and two new recovered cases across the seven counties in the region, dropping the active cases in the Heartland to nine.
