FAULKTON — Adolphiene D. Mickley, 104, of Faulkton, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Faulkton Senior Living.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 15, at the Meadows in Faulkton.
Burial will be Monday, the 18th, in Mountain View Cemetery at Rapid City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Adolphiene Davidiene Mickley was born April 15, 1914, near Canistota to Max F. and Eka (Dreier) Mickley. She and her father, Max, came out ahead of the family to start a farm or two near Onaka. The family soon followed. The early years were good until they weren’t.
After high school, she worked at the Onaka bank before starting at the ASC office in Faulkton. She then went to work for Faulkton Motor Company as a secretary and parts man, retiring after 33 years of service. She helped Faulkton youth plant Victory gardens, she led 4-H, was a horse woman and a farrier. She was an active member, Sunday School teacher, and choir member of the United Church of Faulkton.
She is survived by her many nieces and nephews; great- nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Adolph, John, David, Otto, Ina Bemis, and Margaret Webster.
