All-Stars go 1-1 in pair of games

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls 2 rallied in the final period for a 6-5 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Saturday.
Huron took the lead in the contest with two goals in the opening period. Will Burns scored on a pass from Carson Duba and Duba then found the net on an unassisted shot during a short-handed situation.
The Flyers then evened the score by outscoring the All-Stars 4-2 in the second period.
Tanner Berquist had the first of the two goals for Huron on an unassisted shot and Walker Schiltz had the second on an unassisted shot.
Sioux Falls 2 snagged its first lead with the opening goal in the third period, but the All-Stars answered with a goal by Duba on a pass from Izaiah Phillips to even the score.
The Flyers scored the game winner in the final minute of play. Kadin Huyser had 31 saves as the goalie for Sioux Falls.

Marty Boetel stopped 25 of 31 shots he faced in the net for Huron.
On Friday, the All-Stars escaped with a 6-5 victory against Mitchell at Bergman Arena.
Schiltz had a pair of goals for Huron in the opening period. The first was unassisted, while Kaleb Ferguson and Mason McDonald assisted on the second.
Jacob Maas had the other goal in the opening period, which ended 3-0, on a pass from Drew Arteman.
Huron would build a 6-2 lead with three more goals during power plays in the second period.
Duba scored on a pass from Schiltz, who then earned the hat trick with his third goal of the game. Ferguson and Lucas Snyder assisted on the second goal, while Phillips capped the scoring with an unassisted goal.
Cooper Letcher, who had stopped 27 shots during the first two periods, inked 13 saves in the final period to secure the win for the All-Stars.
Junior Varsity
Mitchell scored two goals in the final period to emerge with a 3-1 win against Huron.
Ferguson had the lone goal for the All-Stars with just nine seconds remaining in the second period. Arteman and Burns assisted on the play.
Boetel finish with 35 saves for Huron.
