And the challenge winners are...

Huron High School math teacher Lindsey Brewer recently held a contest among a collection of her students from Pre-Calculus; Functions, Statistic and Trigonometry and Algebra II classes.

It was a STEM (Science Technology Engerneering Math) Challenge. Student teams received 20 spaghetti noodles and three feet of masking tape, from when they had to create a free standing structure that was strong enough to hold up a marshmallow.

The teams had 20 minutes to plan and create and the tallest tower “won.” While there were no prizes, bragging rights were on the line.

Brewer said the activity was not only a fun hands on activity but allowed the students to get to know their table mates.
