HURON — The James Valley Christian Vikings broke open a close game with a 19-3 second quarter Tuesday night and raced to a 68-34 win over the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots at the James Valley Christian School gym.
Jerrad Wallman led the Vikings, coming off the bench to score a game-high 18 points in the contest. Both Landon Wager and Landon Wallman netted 14 points for JVC, which improves to 11-2 with the win.
Erik Salmen scored nine points for Hitchcock-Tulare, which also got six points each from Brenden Nowell and TJ Salmen.
The Patriots, now 5-6, host Sunshine Bible Academy on Friday night, while the Vikings will go for their 10th straight win Friday, when they host Faulkton Area.

MILLER — The Highmore-Harrold Pirates pushed their season record to 11-3 Tuesday night, with a 57-28 win over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in 281 Conference boys’ basketball action.
Mason Knox scored 14 points and hauled down 17 rebounds to pace the Pirates’ effort.
Nolan Triebwasser scored 11 points and had seven boards for SBA, which also got seven rebounds from Daniel Gerbracht.
SBA, which falls to 0-10, travels to Hitchcock-Tulare on Friday night, while the Pirates host Philip on Saturday.

FORESTBURG – After a slow start, the Ethan Rustlers pulled away to defeat the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks 60-38 Tuesday at Sanborn Central High School.
Ethan moves to 11-2 behind 22 points from Riley Endres. Wyatt Sinkle put in 13 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Rustlers while Taite Klumb added 10 points.
The Blackhawks fell to 5-6 despite Jeff Boschee’s game-high 23 points. Boschee and Toby Kneen each grabbed four rebounds for SC/W.
The Blackhawks travel to Corsica-Stickney on Friday.

HURON – The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings jumped out to a 17-3 lead after one period and clamped down on defense the rest of the way in a 52-19 victory over the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots in 281 Conference action Tuesday at the JVC gym.
The Lady Vikings pick up their 10th victory of the season (10-3) behind a pair of big nights from Kaylie Robinson and Alexa Goertz. Goertz led JVC with 21 points, including five 3-point baskets, grabbed eight rebounds, and nabbed five steals.
Robinson dropped in 19 points for the Lady Vikings while also grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out five assists, and swiping six steals.
Gracyn Bixler led the Lady Patriots, now 5-8, with six points. Isabel Gilbert grabbed eight rebounds to lead Hitchcock-Tulare.
The Lady Vikings host Faulkton Area on Friday while the Lady Patriots host 281 Conference foe Sunshine Bible Academy in Hitchcock.

Mya Boomsma led the Lady Warbirds with 20 points while Leah Williams added 17 and Mallory Miller chipped in 12.
Miller surpassed the 1000-rebound and 500-block career milestones in the victory
Wolsey-Wessington improves to 12-2 with the win.
The WildKats, now 7-6, got a game-high 26 points from Harley Namanny, while Ryann Nielsen added 15.
