Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 60, James Valley Christian 29
HURON — The Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks girls’ basketball team thumped the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings by 31 points, with a 60-29 final score, Monday night at Huron.
The Blackhawks were led by Megan Poyer and Trinity Boschee with 11 each on the scoreboard, as the team improved to a 13-6 record on the season.
Karilyn Wieting was the top Lady Vikings scorer with 11 points, as James Valley Christian suffered a 6-12 dent on its record with the loss.
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket will travel to Mitchell on Thursday, while James Valley Christian are set to host Leola-Frederick Area today.

MILLER — The Highmore-Harrold Pirates evened out the team’s season record to 9-9 after a 52-34 win over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in class “B” girls’ basketball action, Monday night at Miller.
Letha Jessen and Grace Knox each tallied 10 points for the Pirates to assist with the win, while Oakley Jandreau led the rebounders with 12 on the board.
The Crusaders were led by Lindsey Wilken with a game-high of 21 points and 11 rebounds in efforts for Sunshine Bible Academy, now dropped to a record of 3-13 on the season.
Highmore-Harrold travels to Ipswich today, while the Crusaders are set to host Sully Buttes.
