Highmore-Harrold 3, Lyman 0
HIGHMORE — Using scores of 25-11, 25-6 and 25-8, Highmore-Harrold swept Lyman on Tuesday.
Letha Jessen led the Pirates to the win with nine kills on 12 of 12 attacks, while Grace Knox was 15 of 17 hitting with seven kills.

Knox also recorded seven aces on 24 of 24 serving for Highmore-Harrold. Emilee Schied was 14 of 15 with three aces.

Courtney Moser converted on 46 of 46 sets and had 18 assists, while Brooklyn Baloun was 7 of 7 setting with five assists. Kenidy Effling and Brooke Palmer finished with seven and six digs, respectively, while Knox had six solo blocks and two assisted blocks.

Highmore-Harrold, which is now 16-9, travels to play Stanley County on Thursday.

James Valley Christian 3, Wessington Springs 1

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings used a big night from Brenna Held to post a 3-1 win over the Wessington Springs Lady Spartans in 281 Conference volleyball action Tuesday night.

Held connected on 18 kills, had a pair of aces and led the Lady Viking defense with 31 digs as JVC improved to 9-13 on the season.

Kaycie Robinson added eight kills, while both Autumn Gross and Karilyn Wieting had three aces and Colleen Wipf had 27 digs. Wieting passed out 30 set assists in the match. Jolie Dowling had three blocks for the Lady Vikes.

Wessington Springs was led by Avery Orth’s 11 kills and three blocks, while Sarah Poncelow added seven kills and two aces. Raylee Fagerhaug had three aces and 26 digs for the Lady Spartans, while

Alyssa Grohs had 29 set assists and 22 digs.

Wessington Springs, which falls to 13-15, will travel to Kimball on Friday, while the Lady Vikings close the regular season on Tuesday, as they are part of a triangular with Freeman Academy/Marion and Mitchell Christian in Mitchell.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
MILLER — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds pushed their season record to 25-3 Tuesday night, as they easily handled the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders, 25-12, 25-12 and 25-10 in 281 Conference volleyball action.

Leah Williams had 11 kills, nine assists and five aces to pace the Lady ‘Birds attack, while Mya Boomsma added 11 kills and two aces. Lainey Uttecht led the defense with 21 digs.

For the Crusaders, who fall to 3-20, Aja Paul had seven kills, Liza Konechne had two aces and Betra Amare had five digs in the match.

SBA travels to Leola/Frederick on Friday, while Wolsey-Wessington is at Redfield on Monday.
