HURON — The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans defeated the James Valley Christian Lady Vikings 3-0 in 281 Conference volleyball action Tuesday night at the JVC Gymnasium. Set scores for Wessington Springs were 25-18, 25-12 and 25-23.
Maddie Neely had seven kills to pace the Lady Spartan offensive attack. Linzi Olinger, Makayla Dornbusch and Chasity Vissia each had two aces and Vissia handed out 14 set assists in the match. Grace Gran had five kills and added a pair of blocks, and Sierra Burg led the defense with 10 digs.
For JVC, Julia Blom had a match-high 11 kills, while Angelina Zuccaro had four kills and added a pair of aces and Bekah Williams created 10 set assists. Brenna Held had eight blocks and Josalyn Wipf added six.
JVC, which falls to 10-11 on the season, will face Hitchcock-Tulare in Wolsey on Saturday, while the Lady Spartans, who improve to 13-12, will host Kimball-White Lake on Friday night.

WOLSEY — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds pushed their season mark to 12-9 Tuesday night, with a dominant 3-0 win over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders in 281 Conference volleyball action. Set scores for the Lady Warbirds were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-11. The Lady Crusaders fall to 2-18 with the loss.
Lizzi Brandt recorded seven kills and had nine digs to pace the W-W effort, while Allison King and Raquel Nelson each added five kills. Nelson and Chantel Haider both laced four ace serves and Shayla Muilenburg collected 21 set assists and added seven digs. Ally Boomsma had eight digs and Cortney Sprecher chalked up a block.
For SBA, Lindsey Wilken had four kills, two blocks and 16 digs. Dori Brockel had 17 digs to lead the Crusader defense and Shariah Brockel led the offense with six kills, while Hannah Appel had a pair of aces.
Wolsey-Wessington is back in action on Saturday, when they host Leola-Frederick, while Sunshine Bible closes the regular season Tuesday at Lower Brule.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 1
WOONSOCKET — The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots recorded a 3-1 win over the Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks, after a four-set match held Tuesday, in Class “B” volleyball action.
Hitchcock-Tulare evened out its season record to 12-12 after the win, with set scores of 25-18, 15-25, 25-14, 25-21. The Blackhawks dropped to a 16-9 record with the loss.
Dannyn Peterson and Cassidy Johnson each hit nine kills for the Lady Patriots, while Kenidee Enander made three aces and Trajan Fliene added another ace, to assist Hitchcock-Tulare in the victory.
Mariah Jost had a match high of 14 kills for the Blackhawks, eight kills were tallied each by Erica Howard and Tesa Jensen, who also made two aces for Sanborn Central-Woonsocket.
Hitchcock-Tulare will host Sully Buttes on Friday, while Sanborn Central-Woonsocket will travel to Forestburg for a match against Bridgewater-Emery.
Highmore-Harrold 3, Crow Creek 1
HIGHMORE — The Highmore-Harrold moved up a class Monday night, as the Class “B” Pirates defeated the Class “A” Crow Creek Lady Chieftains 3-1 in volleyball action. Set scores for H-H were 25-20, 18-25, 25-16 and 25-7.
Grace Knox had 11 kills and added 13 digs to lead the Pirates, who move to 9-14 with the win. Halle Tvedt had 21 assists in the game and Kassie Hale led the defense with 32 digs. Sydney Marso laced seven aces and Maddie Bollweg chipped in three ace serves.
The Pirates will host Stanley County Friday night.
