Hitchcock-Tulare 58, Iroquois 25
HITCHCOCK — The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots jumped out early and continued to pull away Tuesday night, taking a 58-25 win over the Iroquois Lady Chiefs in 281 Conference girls’ basketball action.
Hitchcock-Tulare, now 8-10, was led by Dawsyn Otto and Ashley Masat, both with 19 points, while Elizabeth Salmen scored 18. Masat led all rebounders with 12 boards.
Iroquois, which ends the regular season winless at 0-20, was led by Katie Dubro’s 12 points, while Kaitlyn Maas claimed four rebounds.
Hitchcock-Tulare will close the regular season tonight at Wolsey-Wessington. Iroquois will open play in Region 4B Feb. 18.

MITCHELL — The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds held a four-point lead after the first quarter, but only scored three points in both the second and third quarters as they dropped a 47-30 non-conference girls’ basketball contest to the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles Tuesday night.
Mitchell Christian got 18 points from Anna Cooper, while both Erica Thompson and Staci Wolbrink chipped in 13 counters. Mitchell Christian improves to 7-9 with the win.
Wolsey-Wessington, 9-8, was led by Raquel Nelson’s nine points, while Chantel Haider added eight points. The Lady Warbirds will close the regular season tonight when they host Hitchcock-Tulare.

REDFIELD — The Redfield-Doland Pheasants opened a 10-point lead after one quarter and needed all 10 of them, as they held off the Northwestern Wildcats 45-43 in non-conference girls’ basketball action Tuesday night.
Kailee Clausen led all scorers with 18 points and added eight rebounds for Redfield-Doland, who pushed their record to 11-5 with the win. Eve Millar chalked up 10 points and had five boards for the Pheasants.
Sydney Schnell scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds, while Miranda Thorson added 11 points, as Northwestern fell to 7-11 on the season.
Redfield-Doland hosts Clark-Willow Lake tonight in Redfield.

HITCHCOCK — The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots took a lead in the first quarter and maintained it the rest of the way Tuesday night, downing the Iroquois Chiefs 41-37 in 281 Conference boys’ basketball action.
Bailey Binger scored 14 points, while Ty Hofer scored 12 and led rebounders with five boards.
Brandon Decker led all scorers with 16 points and also had five rebounds and four assists for the Chiefs.
Iroquois, 4-13, will travel to Oldham-Ramona/Rutland tonight, while Hitchcock-Tulare, now 3-15, is also on the road tonight, at Wolsey-Wessington.

REDFIELD — The Northwestern Wildcats built an early double-digit lead Tuesday night, then had to hold on against a furious Redfield-Doland Pheasant comeback attempt, to escape with a 68-62 win in boys’ basketball action.
The Wildcats held a 19-5 lead after one quarter, and a 40-24 cushion at the half, but the Pheasants cut the margin to eight after three quarters. Time ran out, however, on the Redfield-Doland comeback effort.
Zech Clemens scored 34 points to lead Northwestern, which improves to 13-3 with the win. Caleb Schentzel scored 24 points and had a game-high eight rebounds.
The Pheasants put five players in double figures, led by Max Baloun’s 14 points and seven rebounds. Zach Jordan and Kolton Haider each scored a dozen, Mic Utecht added 11 and Jaxson chipped in 10 as the Pheasants fall to 8-8 with the loss. The R-D comeback was hindered with a 9-23 effort from the charity stripe in the game.
The Pheasants have a huge matchup Friday, when they travel to challenge Clark-Willow Lake, which is No. 3 in the latest Class “B” poll.
