HURON —Scott Beck of Huron has announced his candidacy to become the Beadle County Register of Deeds.

“I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Register of Deeds for Beadle County.”

Beck will be on the June 7 Republican primary ballot and is a lifelong resident of Beadle County who has been an employee of Beadle County for more than 12 years in both the Courthouse and the Sheriff’s Department.

The Beadle County Register of Deeds serves an important role by providing the mechanism for people to record, obtain and maintain vital records.

“As a county employee and servant of the public I believe that public accessibility to records and information as well as accuracy and security of those records is a top priority,” Beck said in announcing his candidacy.

Scott has been married to his wife Jessica for fifteen years, and they have four children. Scott and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church in Huron.  “My wife and I have always worked and lived in Huron. To be elected and serve the residents of the county we live in would be an honor.”

Absentee voting begins Friday at the Beadle County Courthouse in the Auditors Office.
