Car and Tractor Show planned at S.D. State Fair

HURON — The South Dakota State Fair invites classic car and antique tractor enthusiasts to take part in the Classic Car Show and Antique Tractor Show sponsored by Stan’s Inc. on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1, during the State Fair.
The Classic Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 31, is a chance to look at classic cars 25 years or older. Sherwin Linton will host the show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AARP Centennial Stage. Awards will begin at 4 p.m. with trophies awarded to first through third place in the People’s Choice judging competition.
The Antique Tractor Show sponsored by Stan’s Inc. on Sunday, Sept. 1, is a display of antique tractors from around South Dakota. The show is open to all antique tractors. Sherwin Linton will host the show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AARP Centennial Stage. Awards will begin at 4 p.m. with trophies awarded to first- through third place in the People’s Choice judging competition.

Both shows are free to enter and require pre-registration, as limited entries are taken. Registration forms can be found online at www.sdstatefair.com or at the S.D. State Fair office in the Nordby Exhibit Hall.
The 2019 South Dakota State Fair will run from Thursday, Aug. 29, through Monday, Sept. 2.
Channel Seeds Preview Day will be Wednesday, Aug. 28. This year’s theme is “There’s No Time Like Fair Time.”
