MILLER — Corrine M. Krueger, 90, of Miller, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Memorial Mass will be 2 p.m., Thursday, February 14, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Miller with Father Paul Josten, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, followed by a 7 p.m. wake service, all at Reck Funeral Home of Miller. Burial will be at a later date in Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis.
Corrine was born August 15, 1928, to Henry and Esther (Velder) Thiel in Baker, Neb. She graduated from High School in Butte, Neb. and from Southern State Teachers College in Springfield, S.D., with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She taught school for 8 years in S.D. and Neb.
In 1952, she married Walter Krueger in Fairfax. Walt’s job had them traveling for several years, which included several countries and in 1973, they settled in Denver, Colo. There she worked for International Insurance Underwriters. They retired and moved to Miller in 1994. She was dedicated to her church and belonged to St. Ann’s Altar Society for many years.
Corrine and Walt were inducted into the S.D. Pool Hall of Fame and she won a lot of pool tournaments over the years with her highpoint being the S.D. State 9-Ball singles championship. She also enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, collecting recipes, listening to music and bird watching. She was also blessed to have seven godchildren.
She will be missed by her brother, Joseph (Judy) Thiel; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Krueger; her parents; brothers, Clarence (Pearl) Thiel, and Lawrence (Lori) Thiel; sisters, Marian (Elmer) Haveman, and Helen (Ray) Davis; and an infant sister.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Corrine’s arrangements.
