HURON — The abrupt closure of Countryside Dental in Huron is under investigation by South Dakota Consumer Protection within the attorney general’s office.
Police Capt. Casey Spinsby said in the past few weeks the Huron Police Department has received several complaints from citizens regarding the closure.
“Many patients who purchased membership dental plans offered by Countryside Dental now feel that they may have been scammed,” he said.
As a result of those reports, the investigation was opened, he said.
Individuals or family members who purchased a membership dental plan from Countryside Dental and believe they were taken advantage of can file a report with South Dakota Consumer Protection on its Web site at https://consumer.sd.gov/complaintform.aspx or contact the office at 1-800-300-1986 or 1-605-773-4400 to file a complaint by phone.
