HURON — Beadle County treasurer Jacque McCaskell reminds county residents of the deadline to apply for the county’s Elderly and Disabled Assessment Freeze. These applications can be picked up or filled out at the Treasurer’s office, and must be completed every year. This year the deadline is April 1.
Eligibility requirements include whether and applicant was 65 years of age before Jan. 1, or disabled at any time in 2020, owned their single family home and been a resident of South Dakota for at leat a year and lived in that home for at least 200 days in the previous year.
Please bring proof of income when you return your application as the program is guided by income.
