Deadlines near for SD State Fair open class entries

HURON — Deadlines for all South Dakota State Fair open class entries are approaching quickly.
Exhibitors are encouraged to submit entries online at www.sdstatefair.com. Mailed entries must include payment and a completed W9.

The static exhibit deadline is July 31, and open class livestock entries are due by Aug. 1

Late entries may be accepted if space is available. A late fee will be charged.

Refer to the Exhibitor Handbooks for more information. Handbooks are available online at www.sdstatefair.com.

“The State Fair is the place for you to let your talents shine! There are so many divisions and classes to enter, I encourage you to check out the open class exhibitor handbooks and see where you might fit in,” said Peggy Besch, South Dakota State Fairgrounds manager. “With perfectly grown vegetables, exquisite needlework items, and eight different livestock species, there is something for everyone!”

Due to construction of the DEX, the Open Class Beef and Sheep shows will be taking place in the 4-H Livestock Complex the week prior to the State Fair.

Open Class Sheep will be shown on Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, Aug. 28. The Open Class Beef will exhibit on Tuesday, Aug. 30, and Wednesday, Aug. 31.

The 2022 South Dakota State Fair runs Thursday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Sept. 5.
