IPSWICH — Dennis Lee Lutz, 72, of Ipswich, and formerly of Redfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, at Avantara Ipswich.
Following his wishes, a private committal service will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield has been entrusted with arrangements.
Dennis Lee Lutz was born April 8, 1947, in Oakes, N.D., to William and Abigail (Spencer) Lutz. He was raised in North Dakota before the family moved to Redfield. He was a graduate of Redfield High School. He worked at Harry’s Egg Station after graduation and then he was a long-distance truck driver until his health failed.
He married Debbie Odland and they had two children, Dustin and Heather. In his earlier years, he was an umpire in the Redfield area. He was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed watching western movies.
He is survived by his brother, Jim (Jeannie) Lutz of Gary; stepbrother Doug (Joyce) Waddington of Kansas; and stepsister Sharon Weinreis of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
