HURON — Genevieve “Sue” Hunter, 62, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at her home.
Her memorial service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 24, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Genevieve “Sue” Lorraine Hunter was born December 12, 1956, at Chamberlain to Virgil and Patricia (Greyowl) LaFortune. She was raised in Huron by her foster parents, Edger and Donna Rudy and attended Huron High School. She was united in marriage to Richard Hunter, Sr. February 14, 1989.
She is survived by her husband; children, Richard “Ricky” Hunter, Jr. of Huron, Donna Hunter of Colo., and Matthew Peters of Huron; two grandchildren; siblings, Bernard “Beep” Greyowl of Ft. Thompson, Mary Allen Brink of Vivian, and Beverley Carpenter of Rapid City; uncle, Melvin Greyowl of Stephan; sisters-in-law, Judy Fry of Ohio, Bobby Carpenter of Ky., Diane Harrington of Huron, and Greta Carpenter of Ariz.; brothers-in-law, Kenny Hunter, and David Hunter, both of Wichita, Kan.; and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Kenneth LaFortune, Richard Mills, Charlotte Greyowl Johnson, and Melvina Greyowl Burger.
