House explosion shakes Fort Pierre

FORT PIERRE - An explosion destroyed a home and left three dead on Wednesday southeast of Fort Pierre.

A call came in at 10 a.m. about an explosion. Respondents found a home nearly completely destroyed. Fire marshalls are investigating the cause of the blast.

According to a GoFundMe set up for Trevor and Kelsey Hupp, the couple that lost their home, three people perished in the blast and blaze, including an infant and two grandparents of the infant. The Hupp's two sons were airlifted to a Minnesota burn unit. The couple has ties to Huron.
