MITCHELL – After holding a lead for much of the game, Huron’s 13U team saw Mitchell explode with a six-run bottom of the seventh inning to take the lead. Then after a Huron comeback tied the game in the top of the ninth, Mitchell scored the winning run in the bottom of the inning to walk off with a 10-9 victory Thursday afternoon at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.

Cooper Bischoff made the start for Huron, going 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and striking out four.
Bischoff gave way to Jeremy Hofer, who allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, striking out three.

Blaise Simmon came in to pitch the ninth inning, but he allowed in the final run without recording an out.

The Huron offense had plenty of chances to push runs across, with 19 base runners among seven hits, seven walks, and five hit batsmen in the game.

Hunter Fenske reached base four times, singling, walking, and getting hit by pitch twice on the day. He also stole two bases.

Hofer was on base three times with a single and a pair of walks. He also stole a base.

Davis Chase had a triple for the only extra base hit for the Huron offense.
