The Hiuron Area Photography Club held its July meeting and photo contest. The July contest topic was “Feathered Friends.”

Sandy Uecker’s photo of American Avocets at the Maga-Ta-Hohpi Waterfowl Production Area (above) was named the group winner.

The club’s meeting is 7 p.m.,  Thursday, Aug. 17, at James Valley Housing, 800 Dakota Ave N. Contest topic is “Anything Yellow. “
