Huron to host trio of 2021 SoDak 16 games in Class B

HURON — Three of the Class B girls’ basketball SoDak 16 games will be held in Huron on Thursday. Two will be held at Huron Arena, while the other will be held at the James Valley Christian gym.

Third-seeded Corsica-Stickney will face No. 14 Timber Lake at 5:30 p.m., at Huron Arena, followed by fourth-seeded Hanson against No. 13 Faith at 7:15 p.m.

Sixth-seeded Herreid/Selby Area will square off against No. 11 Menno at 6:30 p.m., at the JVC gym.

Castlewood holds the top seed for the SoDak 16 and will face No. 16 De Smet at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in Watertown.

In the other SoDak 16 matchups, second-seeded White River plays No. 15 Aberdeen Christian at 6 p.m., in Mitchell; fifth-seeded Ethan faces No. 12 Faulkton Area at 7:45 p.m., in Mitchell; seventh-seeded Viborg-Hurley plays No. 10 Andes Central/Dakota Christian at 7 p.m., in Centerville; and eighth-seeded New Underwood plays No. 9 Waverly-South Shore at 6 p.m., in Chamberlain.

The winners of the SoDak 16 games advance to the Class B State Tournament, which will be held March 11-13 at Huron Arena.
