HURON — Senior Devin Hunter of Huron will skate for Team South Dakota during the 2023 High School National Tournament, which started Thursday and runs through Monday in Plymouth, Minn.
For Hunter, its her fifth season player for Team South Dakota. However, it is her first trip to the High School National Tournament.
“Being selected to play on Team South Dakota has helped me evolve in my hockey career” said Hunter. “It has changed the outlook on how I play, it is a great way to learn and gain exposure to different coaches throughout the state.
“Team South Dakota has given me the chance to play with some really great players of all skill levels from across the state,” she said. “I am really looking forward to going to Minnesota and skating against some of the top talent from states across the United States.”
Team South Dakota opened the tournament with a 5-2 setback against St. Mary (Calif.) on Thursday.
Team South Dakota will play United High School of Missouri at 2:30 p.m., today and Premier Prep Pink of Minnesota at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The High School National Tournament championship game will be played at 11:15 a.m. Monday.
