HURON — James H. Gamber, 82, of Huron, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, in Huron.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Welter Funeral Home, with military honors by Huron Veterans Council. Burial will be in the Wessington Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation with his family present will be on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Welter Funeral Home.
James Haller Gamber was born on Dec. 7, 1937, to Charles N. and Ruth L. (Walker) Gamber.
He married Marlys Kay Davis on Feb. 3, 1962.
He is survived by his daughter, Gail (James) Thomas; one grandson; sisters, Joan Gilbert, June (Dale) Metter, and Jinx (Steve) Richards; brothers, Charles Gamber, Bill Gamber, David (Charlotte) Gamber, Howard Gamber, and Royal (Arlyce) Gamber;
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kay; daughter, Penny Kay Gamber; son, Andy Gamber; brothers, Rodney Gamber, Jack Gamber, Gary Gamber, and Randy Nelson; and his father-in-law, Archie Davis.
