JVC rallies to get past SC/W

FORESTBURG — James Valley Christian worked out of a 2-0 to claim a 3-2 win in a 281 Conference match against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday.

The Vikings won the match with set scores of 11-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23 and 15-8.

Regan Rink had 16 kills to lead James Valley Christian (6-12), while Alexa Goertz and Natalie Hamilton had nine and five kills, respectively.

Regan Rink was 13 of 15 serving with three aces, while Lily Hofer went 21 of 22 serving with an ace. Kaylie Robinson was 8 of 10 serving with an ace.

Daril Frandsen was 59 of 60 setting with 20 assists for the Lady Vikings. Robinson added 14 assists on 91 of 94 sets.

Colleen Wipf recorded a team-high 34 digs, while Jacey Wipf had 32 digs and Ashlyn Cronin had 24 digs. Robinson, Rink and Hamilton each had two blocks.

Kenna Ochsner led Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with 15 kills, while Kailynn Eggleston had 12 kills and Ellie Evans had eight kills.

Eggleston recorded four ace serves, while Kenlie Fridley had a pair of aces for the Lady Blackhawks. Fridley also tallied 16 assists, while Bailey Feistner had 11 assists.

Ochsner and Bella Fry finished with 30 and 29 digs, respectively.

Both teams will be at the 281 Conference Tournament in Wolsey today. JVC is the fourth seed and will play Iroquois/Lake Preston at 10 a.m., while SC/W is the sixth seed and will face Hitchcock-Tulare at 11 a.m.
