JVCS holds annual Fall Banquet

HURON — James Valley Christian School’s annual Fall Banquet took place on Thursday, at the school.
Author, evangelist and international speaker, Bob Lenz challenged 270 guests at the event with his message titled “Faith for the Next Generation.” The number 18 came up often in the message, beginning with scripture from Luke 18:16 which says, “But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’”

Lenz asked, “Will we see the value of these people that God calls valuable? We don’t want to gain the whole world and lose our families in the process.” He said believes children are close to God’s heart, and asked the Body of Christ to consider the use of talents, time and treasures for those pursuits.
Prior to Lenz’s challenge, the audience heard music by JVCS’s student ministry group, a testimony by student council president Carter Wells, and AJ the Animated Illusionist.
