To the Editor:
State AA Golf Was a Huge Success
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all the volunteers who helped work the State AA Boys Golf Tournament at Broadland Creek, Oct 4-5. The tournament was a huge success and the volunteer scorekeepers were a big part of that success. Your willingness to help out over five hours each day helped make this tournament one of the best ever, capped by a team playoff for the championship Tuesday.
I also thank the employees at Broadland Creek Golf Course. The course was in great shape and I received many positive comments about the course and the pro shop employees. Kudos to Jesse Hajek, BC Superintendent and Ben Dragt, BC Pro Shop Manager, for a job well done.
Finally, to all the school employees. Huron continues to put on great state events and it is not possible without your professionalism which you display when working state events. Thank you for helping make great memories for many student-athletes and parents from all over the state.
It may be several years before Huron hosts a State Championship Tournament again, but the 2021 State AA Boys Championship is one I will never forget.
