Middle School basketball 1-22-22

HURON — The Huron Middle School seventh grade girls’ basketball team dropped a pair of games to Watertown on Tuesday afternoon, at the Huron Middle School gymnasium.

In the “A” game, Watertown held off Huron 32-17, despite 11 points from Abagail Harrington.

The “B” game was closer, but the Arrows escaped with a 28-23 win.

Huron was led by Natalie Kinsley’s 15 points.

The eighth grade team fared better, as Huron won the “A” game 26-25, behind seven points and eight rebounds from Chloe Carr, while Jencie Goergen added nine points.

Huron also took the “B” contest, outlasting the Arrows 17-13. Eh K Lu Paw had five points and six rebounds and

Yoselyn Yanes claimed 10 rebounds.

The Tigers are back in action on Monday at Harrisburg.

Eighth-grade boys

HURON — The Huron Tiger eighth-grade boys’ basketball team dropped a trio of games to the Watertown Arrow eighth-grade teams Tuesday, at Huron Middle School gymnasium.

In the “A” game, Huron dropped its first game of the season, to the Arrows, 46-41. Huron was led by Parker Graff with 16 points and three assists, while Mason Jurgens added 10 points and three rebounds. Tommie Martin added six rebounds.

Watertown held on for a 35-27 win in the “B” contest, despite 15 points and five rebounds from Martin. Oakley Anderson had eight points.

The “C” game was a win for the Arrows, by a final tally of 32-11. Huorn was led by Landyn Mumbulo’s five points and five rebounds. Robert Garcia also had five boards for Huron.

The Tigers are back in action Jan. 27, when they travel to Mitchell.
