SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members, advisers, alumni, and guests from across the country gathered for the 2022 National Leadership Conference June 29- July 3.
A team of students from Hitchcock-Tulare High School — Caden Bottum, Andrew Brooker, Brooklyn Frankenstein, Madison Hofer, Danielle, Nowell, and Jedidiah Waldner — were among the members and took part in STAR Event competitions at the conference.
These six students qualified for Nationals in April at the South Dakota State Conference in Sioux Falls in their STAR Event, Parliamentary Procedure.
They traveled with their advisor Ashley Johnson to San Diego to compete at the National Conference and received 2nd in the nation in their STAR Event competition.
“Parliamentary Procedure is a team event that recognizes chapters that develop a working knowledge of parliamentary law and the ability to conduct an FCCLA business meeting,” said Johnson. “The students also had to complete a test on Parlimentary Procedure as part of the competition.”
FCCLA is national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
