More than 75 walkers participated in the Out of the Darkness Walk Saturday morning to promote suicide awareness and prevention. They joined more than 250,000 walkers nationwide who participated in suicide prevention walks Saturday. Money was raised to help with surviving families of suicide.

Organizers intend to put together a “hope tree” as part of the Christmas tree display at the Huron Event Center this year, with a donated ornament to honor the memory of those lost to suicide in the area. Look for more information to come about where to donate ornaments for the tree.
