Reading Challenge now on at Huron Public Library

Posted

A new reading challenge began in January for all ages! Challenge cards are available at the library. Complete the card and return it to the library for a prize.

• Kids’ Korner invites third graders and under to attend our monthly programs — Lego Club and Elementary Explorers.

• Baby Jiggles is back! Birth to 2-year-olds and their caregivers can come at 10 a.m. Mondays to experience storytime, sensory, rhymes, and bubbles.

Remember, during these winter months, the Kids’ Korner has toys, games, and crafts for kids under third grade with supervision.

• Wednesday, Jan. 26,  as well as Feb. 9 and 23, at 4 p.m., the library invites all second grade through eighth grade animal lovers to a Puppy Place book club. They will read aloud and discuss “Spirit” from the series by Ellen Miles.

• A new middle school book club began Jan. 19. Sixth- eighth-grade youth who would like to join may pick up a book at the library. The first book is “Chester and Gus” by Cammie McGovern. This group will continue to meet the third Wednesday of the month and discuss a different book each time.

• Homebound Book Delivery! A free new service which allows patrons living within Huron city limits who are unable to leave their home to receive library books delivered to their front door. Please contact Angela at the library with any questions or to sign-up.

For more information about any of these library programs, pick up a monthly calendar at the library, watch Facebook for event notices, or give us a call at 605-353-8530. We hope to see you at the library.
