RAPID CITY — Three area wrestlers won championships during the Class B State Tournament, which concluded Saturday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

Bradyn Robbins of Redfield Area recorded a 10-3 decision against Braden Sehr of Canton to win the title at 138 pounds.

Quinten Christensen of Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington recorded a pin against Achilles Willuweit of Winner Area to win the state championship at 285.

Kyla Logan of Iroquois/Doland used a 9-2 decision against Rachel Mastalir of Canton to claim a state title in the girls’ division at 140.

Joey Hoverson of Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington and Reganne Miles of Iroquois/Doland came up just short in their bids to win a state title.

Hoverson suffered a 9-3 loss to Jackson Remmers of McCook Central/Montrose in the championship match at 132.

Miles suffered a loss by pin to Peyton Hellman of Bon Homme in the girls’ title match at 129.

Finishing third in the Class B Tournament were Mason Fey at 145 and Corbin Schwartz at 182 of Redfield Area, along with Keegan Haider of Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington at 152 and Abi Reil of Clark/Willow Lake at 275 in the girls’ tourney.

Fourth-place finishers were Kellan Hurd of Miller/Highmore-Harrold at 113, Dylan Whitley of Redfield Area at 160 and Gage Burke of Clark/Willow Lake at 182.

Brady Risetter of Redfield at 106 and Gunner Kvistad of Clark/Willow Lake were fifth, while Gannon Gilligan of Kingsbury County at 106 and Keaton Rohlfs of Redfield Area at 126 were sixth.

Tate Hoffman of Miller/Highmore-Harrold was seventh at 170 and Alec Dobson of Kingsbury County was eighth at 138.

Canton won its fourth straight Class B team title with 216.5 points. Winner Area was second at 188.5, followed by Philip Area at 176, Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 129 and Redfield Area at 110.

Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington was sixth at 70, while Clark/Willow Lake was 15th at 35 and Miller/Highmore-Harrold and Kingsbury County were No. 18 and 19, respectively, with scores of 24 and 23.
