Robert D. (Bob) Mann, 94, of Mesa, Ariz.

MESA, Ariz. — Robert D. (Bob) Mann, 94, died Oct. 2, 2021, at his home in Mesa, Ariz.  
He was born on Sept, 29, 1927, in Huron, S.D. Bob grew up and attended school in Huron. Bob requested that there be no service or funeral.
After high school Bob joined the Navy and served his country proudly. He was stationed in Okinawa bull dozing sites for landing strips. After the World War II ended Bob went to Japan, China and the Philippines aboard a demolition mine sweeper.  After he received and honorable discharge He returned to Huron where he worked at his fathers grocery store as a meat cutter. He loved working at his dads store and learning all about meat cutting.
Bob met the love of his life while working at his dads grocery store and on
August 13, 1950, he married Phyllis Foresman. They worked together at the grocery stores that they owned and ran. After Ed & Eb’s was sold he purchased the Red Owl store in Huron where he and his wife Phyllis worked for many years before selling it and moving to Las Vegas. After retiring in 1986, they traveled all around the country pulling a 5th wheel. After years of traveling they made their home in Mesa, Ariz., for the last 29 years.
Bob enjoyed and played all sports, he was a loyal Cinncinatti Reds and Chicago Bears fan. He played softball, tennis, pool and he loved playing pickle ball, he did so clear into his 90’s.
Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Mesa, Ariz.;  his daughters, Vicky (Rick) Aughenbaugh, Iroquois, Sharon Tschetter, Mesa, Linda (Pat) Owens, Iroquois; a sister, Dar Hutchinson, Mesa; a sister-in-law, Steph Mann, St. Paul, Min.; five grandchildren, Cory and Mark Aughenbaugh, Melissa White, Robbie Moldrem and Raelynn Sanchez, 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Letha Mann; a brother, Jack; brother-in-law, Reed Hutchinson; and niece, Jean Hyde.
