Safety City holds graduation for students

The 2017 Huron Safety City concluded on Friday, June 16. Thank you to the Huron Police Department (gun safety), Huron Fire Department (fire safety), HRMC (germs), NESD Area Health Education Center (poison safety), Beadle County Humane Society (animal safety), Northwestern (electrical safety), Huron Public School Transportation Department (bus safety), Huron Parks and Recreation (drawing our city and loaning strider bikes), National Guard Armory (letting us use your beautiful facility), Sarah May at Modern Woodmen (pizza for the helpers), Holy Trinity (funneling all the registrations), all of the adult and student helpers, and the American Legion Post 7 for sponsoring the program, setting up the city, and maintaining the trikes and helmets.  This year we had 92 4- and 5-year-old students that spent the week learning all about safety. They also learned about stranger danger, railroad safety, water safety, and playground safety in addition to the above mentioned. What a wonderful opportunity this is for the children in Huron!
