Salvation Army Christmas baskets 2020

Posted

The Huron Salvation Army has hosted the Salvation Army Christmas Basket Program for more than 70 years to help others at Christmas with food for the family and clothing and toys for the children.

This program is a multi-group musical fundraiser, which area schools, churches and individuals come together to share their musical talents, which is broadcast live on Huron Tiger Channel 6, the radio state, online and in person at Huron High School.

This year’s Christmas Basket Program fundraiser will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 3-Dec. 3.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual music program will not look the same since large musical groups are not gathering this year, but the need for fundraising is still there.

Organizers of this annual program are looking for smaller groups or individuals willing to perform live or pre-recorded for the fundraiser. Please call Cara Osier at 350-2645 to sign up.

All donations are to be marked as Salvation Army Christmas Basket Program, 237 Illinois Ave. S.W., Huron, S.D. 57350.

The Salvation Army Christmas Basket Program Outreach reached 94 families with food last year, encompassing 600 children with gifts of toys and clothing.
