HURON — Six  students who recently completed  the Southeast Technical College Licensed Practical and Associate Degree Nursing programs, celebrated their pinning ceremony July 15 at Huron Community Campus.

Local students in the ceremony include Peyton McWethy and Justice McDermott, both of Huron; and Lynnette Andru, Miller.

The pinning ceremony marks the passage from the student role to the practice role. The pin of each school of nursing is unique, and only graduates of that school may wear the pin as a statement that they have completed that program.

HRMC congratulates each of the students and wishes them the best of luck in their profession. They are encouraged to continue their desire of learning within their nursing career to positively impact their patients and communities.

McWethy and McDermott work in the medical/surgical unit at HRMC and will advance from LPNs to RNs.
LPN graduate Taylor Hornig will advance from nurse aide to LPN, and will work as an LPN apprentice, rotating throughout different nursing departments and gaining master-level experience at HRMC.
