Sort Medicare options with a SHIINE volunteer

Posted

HURON — Plan premiums, pharmacy networks and drug coverage change each year.  The Senior Health Information and Insurance Education (SHIINE) program encourages you to review your plan options each year during the annual open enrollment period that will end Dec. 7.
SHIINE volunteer counselors will be available to help people sort through the confusion and compare Medicare Part D plans at the Huron Senior Center during that time period.

If you are in the Huron area and need assistance with comparing Part D plans, enrolling in a plan, answering Medicare questions or filling out paperwork, call 352-8291 for an appointment.
Administered by the South Dakota Department of Human Services, SHIINE is a federally-funded program that advocates for, educates and assists consumers with Medicare, fraud, errors and abuse detection, and related health insurance information, to allow consumers to make timely and informed decisions and necessary resources.
The program is free for seniors and their caregivers.
For more information on SHIINE or open enrollment events in your area, contact your SHIINE Regional Coordinator, Huron Area Senior Center, at 352-8291 or visit www.shiine.net.
